Welcome to the project upload guide!

Here, we will show you how to upload project data as ZIP into Fabstation to start working on your project using the APP.

If you are not the actual user of the FabStation, and rather a detailer who was asked to assemble the files, please get back to the user with the ZIP you assembled and a link to this guide:

Step 1: Login into the website.

Please use the same credentials as before.

Step 2: Click on PROJECTS > New Project within the portal dashboard.

From there you can add Project Name, Project description and choose unit for a project.

When you fill the requested details, please click on "Register New Project"

Step 3: Click on Project Upload:

3.1 Fill the fields within the Project Files Management:

- Please select the project name from the drop-down "Select Project" and type the project name to confirm it.

- Click on “Choose File” and select the desired file to be uploaded.

- Package Description details (revision number, revision date, etc) should be added to manage revision history.

3.2. When all the information is entered, select "Upload package".

Step 1: Login into the website.

Please use the same credentials as before.

Step 2: Click on PROJECTS > New Project within the portal dashboard.

From there you can add Project Name, Type and Description. Then change the unit for a project, if needed.

As for the Project Type, please make sure to choose a correct one, depending on the detailing software you are using:

- Choose Metal, if:

Detailing Software: Solid Works, Inventor, Revit, AutoCad
File types: .sldprt, .sldasm, .ipt, .iam, .rvt, .step, .stl, .sat, .pdf

- Choose Steel, if:

Detailing Software: Tekla Structures, SDS2, Advanced Steel
File types: .ifc, .json, .kss, .pdf

When you fill the requested details, please click on "Register New Project".

Please note that if you chose incorrect project type initially, you will be able to change it later, by editing the project.

Step 3: Click on Project Upload

3.1 Select Project Type.

3.2 Fill other project details.

- Select the project name from the drop-down "Select Project" and type the project name to confirm it.

If you do not see the name of the project you need in the drop-down, please go to the Projects page and check that your project is Active and Steel/Metal functionality is enabled.

- Click on “Choose File” and select the desired file to be uploaded.

- Package Description details (revision number, revision date, etc) should be added to manage revision history.

3.2. When all the information is entered, select "Upload package".

Additional information

Ensure the progress bar shows the upload progress. If the progress bar is not displayed, check to ensure the Project Name is entered correctly and the Package Description field is populated.

If the project upload is successful, you will see the following:

To verify that the uploaded files were successfully processed, you can view the DRAWINGS section of the web portal and make sure each drawing has a date entry in the PDF and IFC categories.

NOTE: The upload process time can take several hours depending on the size of the project. Make sure to upload the project as early as possible after receiving transmittals to ensure there is plenty of time to process the data.
